As inflation rages on and jacks up prices all over the country, Betting TX takes a deep dive into which stadiums in Texas are most likely to serve you overpriced beers and where you can get the most bang for your buck.
Most Expensive Stadiums
1. Dallas Mavericks / Dallas Stars – American Airlines Center: $12
2. Austin FC – Q2 Stadium: $11
Austin FC, the only MLS team in Texas, offers the second-most expensive beverages among Texas stadiums. While the team is only ranked ninth in the league, that has not stopped them from matching Austin’s high cost of living with their concessions.
Despite Austin FC’s efforts to represent Austin’s wealth with their prices, the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars share the title of “highest beer prices in Texas,” as they share a home in the American Airlines Center.
Both teams have had extended successful stretches in their respective leagues, so it’s not surprising to see both organizations capitalizing on their popularity and fandoms with these $12 beers.
Middle of the Pack
3. Houston Rockets – Toyota Center: $10.56
4. Dallas Cowboys – AT&T Stadium: $9.50
Averaging out the beer prices in Texas are two teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Rockets. The Cowboys finished 2022 with a short-lived playoff run and the Houston Rockets came in 16th with a 22-60 record.
The Most Affordable Beers in the Lone Star State
5. San Antonio Spurs – AT&T Center: $8
6. Houston Texans – NRG Stadium: $8
7. Houston Astros – Minute Maid Park: $7.50
8. Texas Rangers – Globe Life Field: $7
The MLB consistently offers the most affordable fan experiences between ticket prices and concessions, and Texas’s professional baseball teams are no different, with the Texas Rangers offering the cheapest beers available in the state and the Astros on their tail with only a $0.50 difference.
NRG Stadium and AT&T Center aren’t too far behind, though, both serving beer at $8. The beer prices may be due to the team’s poor performance and resulting low attendance rates, as the Texans and Spurs had 3-13 and 22-60 records in their latest seasons respectively.
