It was a hard week for some of the former 2023 Heisman Trophy favorites, while other quarterbacks like McCarthy and Daniels have found favor with the betting public.

Michael Penix Jr QB Washington Huskies (-145)

Michael Penix Jr. threw for 302 yards with four TD passes with one interception in the Huskies’ 36-33 home victory over then No. 8 Oregon.

Penix is 2nd in the nation in passing yards behind Colorado QB Shadeur Sanders and has suffered just four sacks through their first seven contests.

Up Next: The No. 5 Huskies host the 1-5 Arizona State Sun Devils.

J.J. McCarthy QB Michigan Wolverines (+1000)

J.J. McCarthy has been in and out of our top five. Still, he catapulted to the second favorite on the BetMGM betting board after throwing three TD passes while scampering for 27 yards in the Wolverines home rout over Indiana.

Up Next: The No. 2 Wolverines head to East Lansing for their annual rivalry game with Michigan State.

Dillon Gabriel, QB Oklahoma Sooners (+1000)

Dillon Gabriel is making moves up the board after the public saw Williams throw three interceptions in the USC Trojan’s loss to No. 21 Notre Dame.

The Sooners had a bye week after beating previously ranked No. 3 Texas, but Gabriel boasts the 16th most passing yards with the fewest interceptions of the top five BetMGM favorites.

Up Next: Gabriel and No. 6 Oklahoma host Gabriels’ former team, the 3-3 UCF Knights, in a huge Big 12 Conference game for both schools.

Jordan Travis QB Florida State Seminoles (+1300)

Jordan Travis saw his betting odds improve after watching the Seminoles signal-caller throw one TD pass and rush for two more TDs in No. 4 Florida State’s home victory over Syracuse.

Travis doesn’t have the sexy numbers as the others, but his team is undefeated, and he is a major reason why they are 7-0 this season.

Up Next: Florida State hosts No. 16 Duke in an important ACC contest that could determine how the public continues to view Travis in what should be a tough battle against a stout Duke defense.

Jayden Daniels QB LSU Tigers (+1300)

Jayden Daniels makes his debut on the BetMGM board after Daniels threw three scoring strikes in the Tigers’ home victory over Auburn.

Daniels is 3rd in the country in passing yards and, in addition to his 22 passing TDs, has scampered for an additional 515 rushing yards with four rushing TDs.

Up Next: LSU hosts Army on Saturday in a non-conference matchup that will surely see Daniels’ odds improve if he has a big game against the Black Knights.
